Compensation for Personal Injury FAQ
The amount you can claim for a settlement is highly situational and dependant on many circumstances of your claim.
However, we do our best to offer our clients an accurate insight into the potential of their settlement based on precedent of similar cases in the past.
Similar to how much you may be entitled to for a successful settlement, how long the proceedings can take is very dependent on your case, your injury and the surrounding circumstances.
The very nature of personal injury cases means that you will have to wait up to a year for your injuries to ‘stabilise’ in order to obtain necessary medico-legal reports to proceed with your case, and then additional time to proceed with your claim.
We estimate that most compensation claims can be mediated in 12-24 months.
CMC Lawyers offer a 'No Win, No Fee' policy. Our policy is subject to conditions and is set out in our fee agreement.
There is generally a three year period from the date your cause of action became discoverable within which you can begin proceedings for a compensation claim.
If you do not begin proceedings for your claim within your limitation period, you may jeopardise the opportunity to claim compensation for your injury permanently.
Some limitation periods are shorter than this so don't delay seeking advice.
